Dear Satan Santa,
Please deliver!
Love the Garcon Girls x
Ah, Halloween. The time of year you have an excuse to dress up skanky and get away with… NO. No it is not. It never has been, and should never be an excuse to look like a hoe in lingerie and bunny ears.
Therefore to make it easy for you, we’ve put together a few fashion-y Halloween costumes to show you how easy it is to look chic at this awesome time of year!
1920’s Zombie Flapper
As seen in Galliano’s Fall 2007 runway show, this dark flapper look should be easy enough to put together. Throw on your best drop-waist skirt, sequinned head piece and some killer make-up and voilà, your dancing the night away like a zombie Daisy Buchanan!
Renaissance Warrior
Call on Joan of Arc for inspiration and put together a renaissance outfit reminiscent of D&G’s Winter 2015 range. Chain mail, crucifixes and knee-high boots all applicable.
Ice Queen
You could do the whole Disney Frozen thing here, or you could be completely awesome and throw together a dark ice queen more reminiscent of Narnia’s White Witch than a singing princess (disclaimer: we have nothing against Frozen, just think there are better Disney movies… don’t judge us).
You’ll have to excuse our little (ahem) hiatus.. but we are back!
Keep your eyes peeled, we’ll be bringing you the best in celebrity fash and whatever else we feel like.
Lots of love and crystal hearts

Ladies & gents, it’s that time of year again! Met Gala time is so exciting. It’s like more exciting than a new grumpy cat meme…. ok maybe not THAT exciting.
Here are some of our fav looks from this years red carpet.
Anne Hathaway in Valentino rocking a new platinum blonde crop
Cara Delevingne in Burberry spikes
Nicole Richie in Topshop and weirdly awesome white hair
Rooney Mara in Givenchy. This girl was born to wear Givenchy.
Adorbs Grimes in Chanel channeling Rembrandt (her words, not ours)
SJP in Giles Deacon dress, Philip Treacy headpiece and Louis Vuitton boots
Best non-couple ever Sophia Coppola and Marc Jacobs
Designer Tabitha Simmons in Dolce & Gabbana. Goddam this is awesome.
Katy Perry looking AMAZE in Dolce & Gabbana
And finally, the always sexy Miguel in Lanvin ensemble and Prada creepers
So this year we’ve decided to leave out the worst dressed, because why focus on the negative right? In saying that we’ll leave you with three words… why, Madonna, why?
1 week ago I received the most exciting twitter message ever, I had won the Fashion Hayley/Vision Direct competition!
This fabulous prize included a voucher of $250 to spend on the Vision Direct website.. If you’ve been on this website (which I’m sure everyone has!) you’ll know that they have a MASSIVE range of designer reading and sunglasses so it was soooooooo hard choosing my prize.
In saying that, I have been eyeing off the Prada Baroque‘s since their release in 2011 and was pretty excited to find they were within my voucher budget.
It took less than a week to receive my gorgeous sunglasses and dealing with VD was an absolute pleasure! And considering it is my birthday this week, they could not come at a more perfect time. A huge thank you to the ever inspiring Fashion Hayley and the fantastic Vision Direct!
We are currently obsessed with a few sexy music boys.
A$AP Rocky, Miguel and Kendrick Lamar have recently blown up in the music world and it’s so good to see these fellas have great fashion sense too.
Believe me, we have seen our fair share of badly dressed hip hop-ers, like ridiculously bad. So it’s extremely refreshing to see these boys rocking trendy threads.
A$AP Rocky has been involved in the fashion industry for a while now. He is constantly seen front row at shows and is often dressed by fashion favourites Rick Owens, Mr Porter and Jeremy Scott. He even has an ode to fashion on his debut album Long.Live.A$AP in the form of the track ‘fashion killa’.
Miguel is sexy. Full stop. He really could wear anything and still look amazing, he has a sweet haircut and is always donning some awesome clothes so he gets a big tick from us.
Kendrick Lamar, born and raised in Compton has recently toured Aus on the back of releasing debut album ‘good kid, M.A.A.D city’. It’s a great record and Kendrick looked freaking amazing while on tour.
Trend alert for 2013… Hologram!
The 90’s are back baby, and along with the Buffy re-runs and re-released Furby’s comes the fashion trend of HOLOGRAM!
No, we aren’t talking about dead rappers making festival appearances. We are talking about metallic, cool, high-tech holographic items as far as the eye can see.
All the designers have jumped on board, from Stella McCartney to Proenza Schouler and everyone in between. Oh and don’t think buying a pair of $965 Hussein Chalayan Holographic Leggings on Net-A-Porter is going to happen.. they’ve sold out! Holy-graphic.
So the moral of this story is… buy up whatever holo you can find cos this shiz is going to be huge.
You probably know by now that the Garcon girls are born and bred Italians, Sicilians in fact.
So you can imagine our excitement upon learning that this seasons D&G collection for Milano fashion week was inspired by the dearly missed home town of ours, Sicilia!
Walking down the runway in front of several giant prickly pear trees (which are in abundance in Sicily) the models displayed a delicious range of hessian dresses, stripes and colourful headscarves. It was a collection inspired by Italian summer holidays and the Sicilian lifestyle of sea, sun and love!
One of our favourite details was the use of Sicilian-folk art references on dresses and accessories. One would normally see these prints on tablecloths, and the chandelier earrings would be more familiar as marionettes hanging from the side of a souvenir cart manned by Giuseppe, my cousins best friends bother-in-law. So it’s totally refreshing and inspiring to see them on a runway looking Sicilian-chic.
For the last dress, D&G brought out a ridonk (yep. we just used ridonk) wicker-basket-constructed dress with black lace overlay. This look was absolutely stunning and followed a sophisticated set of sheer black pieces that were reminiscent of Sicilian seductress Malena.
So without visiting our beloved southern island (uh, not Tassie) we’ll settle for enjoying these beautiful D&G creations while eating almond biscotti and lemon granita.
Ciao
